Ollie's Law

🐾 Big news for dog safety in Massachusetts! 🐶

On Sept 20, 2024, Ollie’s Law was signed to strengthen oversight of kennels and dog daycares. Named after a pup tragically injured at a boarding facility, this law empowers the state to set safety standards, require injury reporting, and ensure proper licensing. A win for transparency, accountability, and every dog’s wellbeing.

The Beach Dog would like to thank all daycare families for your diligent effort to get all appropriate paperwork to the daycare. Our dogs are up to date and we are so pleased with your cooperation.

But within the new law the state is requiring that BOTH your Dog’s licence and your dog’s rabies tags must be on their collar before admittance into daycare each day. The state will be conducting inspections and there will be fines involved to any and all doggy daycare’s if the tags are not on collars while your dog is in attendance.

Please know that this is simply another layer of added safety while your dog is in our care.

If a dog shows up for their scheduled daycare day and does not have both tags on their collar, we will not be able to accept the dog for that scheduled day. Your understanding of this new law is greatly appreciated.
